Avance Media, a leading African PR and rating firm, has released the Top 100 Ghanaians Powerlist 2025, its annual ranking of the country’s most influential personalities whose leadership, authority and impact shaped Ghana’s political, economic, social and cultural landscape over the past year.
The Powerlist recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional influence and measurable impact across 10 carefully defined categories, including governance, civil society, business leadership, media, sports, religion, traditional leadership, education, law and national security. Together, these sectors reflect the breadth of leadership driving Ghana’s development.
According to Avance Media, selection for the Powerlist is guided by five key criteria: influence; leadership and authority; measurable impact; relevance within the year under review; and public visibility and accountability. These benchmarks ensure the list goes beyond titles to highlight real leadership and tangible contributions.
Speaking on the release, Prince Akpah, Founder and Managing Director of Avance Media, explained that the Powerlist is designed to provoke national reflection on leadership, responsibility and accountability, while celebrating individuals whose actions and decisions continue to shape Ghana’s evolving society.
The 2025 edition features a diverse mix of leaders, including heads of the arms of government, business executives, traditional and religious leaders, creatives, sports icons and media personalities. Notable names include President John Dramani Mahama, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. The list also highlights 28 outstanding Ghanaian women, underscoring the growing influence of women in leadership across national and international spheres.
